Buoy, Oh Buoy!

The next experiment was about how eggs only float in salt water and not in fresh water.

Mama had me get a raw egg from the fridge. She poured water into a cup and put the egg in the cup. The egg sunk!

Next, she took the egg out of the cup. She poured water into another cup with and stirred salt into it and put the egg into that cup. And you know what? The egg didn’t sink.

Mama explained to us that salt water is heavier than fresh water. It was fun learning about buoyancy.
